Knitters in the Wild!

On Saturday between 12p.m. and 6p.m., observe knitters in their natural habitat at Strange Folk! If you knit or crochet, join the pack for a day and reconnect with your amigurumi instincts. Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and join us near the tennis courts at the festival! On the way, be sure to pick up a free Ravelry button (while supplies last) from Dyeabolical Yarn's table in the big pavilion.

Giant Sandbox

Our giant sandbox and equally giant sand toy collection guarantees hours of entertainment for little ones while giving parents a chance to lounge. This year we are also adding a milk jug igloo and handmade hula-hoops to the play area! It's all under a shady tree, of course.

Artisan Guild of Southern Illinois Exhibit

Demonstrations in pottery, weaving, spinning, dyeing, felting, leatherwork, basketry, papermaking, rug hooking, and blacksmithing. In their "Sheep to Shawl" project, guild members will card, spin, and weave a sheep's roving into a wearable textile. They will also be bringing a crowd favorite back again this year as well...The Alpaca and Llama Petting Zoo!

Tenth Life Cat Adoptions

Tenth Life is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization that provides another chance at life to injured and abused stray cats. Our focus is on felines with extreme medical needs or ongoing health conditions that make it difficult for typical shelters and rescues to afford their care.
